Shivu Munishetti the accused in a rape who has been convicted to be hanged slashed his private parts and hand with a blade this morning trying to kill himself. He has been shifted to District hospital for treatment.
Jail authorities had made all preparations for the hanging which could have been on august 22, 2013 but now the same has been postponed indefinitely.
The relatives who visited the jail yesterday say that they were falsely implicated in the case.
Shivu and Jadeswamy were brought to Hindalga prison here in November 2005. The last execution at the jail was carried out 30 years ago.
