BELAGAVI, June 15: Ashok Godhi, a well-known senior doctor and academician, has been honoured with the prestigious a Fellow of Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS) award from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons, Glasgow, which is affiliated to the University Glasgow, UK. The FRCS award was given to Prof. (Dr.) Godhi in recognition of his excellent patient care, enriching academics, pioneering research and academic administration spanning close to four decades.
Prof.David Galloway, President of the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons handed over the award to Dr.Godhi at a convention held at Glasgow on June, 7 2017.
It is noteworthy here that as a Principal of J.N. Medical College in Belagavi city, Dr. Godhi initiated notable administrative reforms. He played major role in organising medical exhibitions, suvarna health camps and clinical skill lab on the occasion of Golden jubilee celebrations of JNMC. He also pioneered Laparoscopic surgery in Belagavi. He had a stint as a Chairman of the Karnataka State Chapter of the Association of Surgeons of India (ASI).
