EAM Jaishankar recalls Chikkodi Connection- Inaugurates KLE School

During the inauguration of a school belonging to the Karnataka Lingayat Education Society in Chikkodi, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar highlighted India’s significant progress under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership over the past decade. Jaishankar commended Modi’s efforts, stating that the foundation laid during this time has positioned India for substantial growth.

Dr. Jaishankar also shared his connection to Karnataka, stating that his grandparents lived in Bengaluru and he had worked in Chikkod in the Belagavi district. He served as the AC in 1977-78, and visited Chikkodi for the first time (After 45 Years).

Jaishankar pointed out that when Modi assumed office in 2014, India ranked 11th globally in terms of economy size. However, through concerted efforts, India has now ascended to the fifth position. He expressed confidence in Modi’s vision, affirming that India is poised to become the third largest economy shortly.

Emphasizing the importance of hard work and the implementation of various government initiatives, Jaishankar cited schemes such as the ‘Anna Yojana’, ‘Mudra Yojana’, and ‘Ujjwala Yojana’. He highlighted the significant impact of these programs, noting that the number of beneficiaries surpassed the populations of several countries.

Jaishankar underscored the government’s commitment to easing the burden on citizens, particularly through digital transformation. He credited Modi’s leadership for fostering good governance, which has enhanced service delivery and efficiency over the past decade.

Reflecting on India’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Jaishankar praised the nation’s ability to not only manage its challenges but also provide assistance to other countries by supplying vaccines. He highlighted the positive shift in India’s global image post-pandemic, showcasing the nation’s capacity to deliver on a global scale.

Looking ahead, Jaishankar outlined India’s trajectory towards embracing technological advancements such as Artificial Intelligence, Electric Vehicles, and Robotics. He emphasized the importance of human capital as India’s most valuable resource in driving future growth.

In the face of global uncertainties, Jaishankar stressed the need for strong leadership with a clear vision. He affirmed India’s readiness to respond decisively under Modi’s leadership, earning recognition as a dependable and proactive global player.
