This year, the Shri Ganesha Visarjan procession and Eid-e-Milad procession have coincided on the same day, Thursday (28th). To uphold Hindu-Muslim unity, foster brotherhood, and prevent any potential disruptions during the immersion procession, the Muslim community in Belagavi made a significant decision. They agreed to hold the Eid-e-Milad procession on October 1, three days after the Ganesha immersion procession.
This decision was reached unanimously during a meeting held by the Muslim community at Anjuman Hall. The decision has been widely embraced by people from all walks of life. The Ganeshotsav celebration in Belagavi holds a rich tradition, and it is noteworthy that both the Ganeshotsav and Eid-e-Milad processions fall on the same day.
The local police also face challenges in providing adequate security for both processions. Therefore, to ensure a peaceful immersion procession, the Muslim community has chosen to hold the Eid-e-Milad procession on October 1.
