Senior and experienced Engineers of Professionals forum, Belagavi inspected the Railway Overbridge Near Gogte Circle, in view of the comments in Social media, and observed that Finishing of the concrete surfaces is not satisfactory and upto the standards, which should be corrected immediately as per the standards.
They further observed that the vertical crack between the abutment and retaining wall is not a structural crack affecting the safety of the structure, but it is a crack in plaster over the expansion joint. Plaster should not have been done over expansion joint as per the standards and hence the plaster should be removed and the joint should be finished neatly with vertical groove filled with proper sealant material.
The concerned Railway Engineers are advised to finish the entire concrete surface should be finished very smoothly as per standards. The above points should be noted during the execution of 3rd Railway over-bridge employing skilled labour and using brand new steel centering and shuttering with modern engineering technology.

This means that all incompetent engineers are recruited in the munciple corporation who over looked the entire work in haste of completion of work before time

Let us hope the assessment of the Gogte circle ROB by the concerned engineers is correct and after the urgent repairs, the Vehicular traffic uses this ROB without fear……
