Vittal Arabhavi the protesting Sugarcane farmer’s family will get rs.10 Lakh compensation, Vittal had committed suicide in front of Assembly building in Belgaum by consuming peticide.
The farmer was facing acute financial crisis after a sugar factory failed to pay him money for supply of 120 tonnes of cane he supplied last year.
The compensation was anounced by the CM Siddaramiah in the assembly today before it was adoujrned. The police have arranged to take the body to their village. But the protesting farmers demanded that the body be handed over to them which caused a some commotion.
