With increase in the number of Covid cases in Belagavi city and the resultant shortage of beds in dedicated Covid hospitals, a First Line Covid Treatment center (Covid Care Center- CCC) has been established at Parshwanath Doddanavar Bharatesh College of Nursing, P.B. Road, Opp. Suvarn Vidhan Sabha, Halaga.
The center begins from 1st September 2020
Vinod Doddanavar, Secretary, BET, said that this center, established jointly with Shree Ortho and Trauma Center, Bharatesh Education Trust, Jain International Trade Organziation (JITO) and Bharatiya Jain Sanghatana (BJS) Belagavi chapter, with the intention to providing basic healthcare and support to the needy patients who are covid positive, covid positive suspects or contacts (mild cases) of covid positive patients. This facility does not cater to moderately symptomatic or those who need advanced medical treatment for Covid-19.
The CCC shall follow all protocols established by the ICMR and the District Health Officer. A team of expert doctors, nurses and support staff is available round the clock.
Two Flu clinics are also operational, one behind Shree Ortho and Trauma Center, C.T.S. No. 3957/184, Gandhi Bhavan, Behind Hotel Sanman, College Road, Belagavi between 9.00 a.m. and 6.00 p.m. where CT scan facility is available and the other at Bharatesh Campus, Halaga.
The main objective of establishing this center is to help people with symptoms / suspected / contacts of Covid patients / Covid positive but asymptomatic or those who are doubtful about being infected, to start treatment at the earliest to avoid unnecessary complications due to delay in treatment. The center will provide facility to screen the patient properly with all necessary investigations done. In case where the patient does not need treatment or does not require being admitted, he/she can be sent home. This will ensure that genuine cases receive timely treatment. In case any patient is found to need advanced treatment and care, he/ she shall be immediately shifted to a dedicated Covid Hospital.
The center caters to early stage interference to prevent unwarranted complications and in extreme cases, death due to delayed treatment. Patients can approach the center without any fear and they will be properly guided by expert doctors and consultants about the proper line of treatment.
The center provides treatment at affordable cost. The charges for patients are as follows-
General ward per day per bed with food and basic medications – Rs. 6600
Semi Private per day per bed with food and basic medications – Rs. 9900
Citizens of Belagavi are hereby urged to make good use of this facility which is created in a spacious well ventilated building, away from the city, with ambulance (paid) facility, round the clock lab consultancy , experienced doctors and nurses. Need – based provision of oxygen is available. If patient needs further care, the same can be provided at Shree Ortho and Trauma Center.
