Chief Minister Basavraj Bommai expressed his delight at the opening of the Super Speciality Hospital, Mother and Child Care Hospital and Intensive Care Unit, which will transform Belagavi into a hub of medical education and healthcare, especially for economically weaker sections of society. He urged the Director of BIMS and other officials to take responsibility and work towards this goal.
MLA Anil Benake thanked the Chief Minister and Health Minister for not only the Super Speciality Hospital, Mother and Child Care Hospital and Intensive Care Unit, but also for the approval of the construction of an additional 650 bedded hospital in Belagavi. He requested the Chief Minister and Health Minister to sanction a Nursing College for the city.
The 50 bedded Critical Care Unit block on the premises of Belagavi Institute of Medical Sciences will be constructed at a cost of Rs. 1364 lakhs in 11 months.
As per the plan, the Ground Floor will have 05 beds for emergency cases and 2 beds for Maternity cases, the First Floor will have DHU-06 beds, Dialysis-03 beds, Isolation room-02 beds, an Isolation ward of 24 beds and the Second Floor will have ICU-10 beds, Pre OP-02 beds, Post OP-02 beds, making a total of 52 beds.
The 100 bedded Mother and Child Care Hospital on the premises of Belagavi Institute of Medical Sciences will also be constructed. This hospital will provide much-needed healthcare services to mothers and children in the region.
