Over six thousand security personnel, including Police and Home guards, will be deployed at various places in Belagavi during winter session of state legislature beginning on December 9 which will end on December 20.
The 10 mega event which is a yearly fare of sorts will test the security personnel and various other arrangements.
Apart from maintaining law and order, security of VVIP’s, legislators and ministers and to control traffic in the city would be of importance.
Several organisations have threatened to disrupt the winter session of the state legislature and hence for all the protesters a separate arrangement about 1.5 kms from the Suvarna Vidhan Soudha has been made. About 5 acres of land has been taken for this protesters ground.
Maharashtra Ekikaran Samiti (MES) will organize Marathi Mahamelav (Marathi Convention), a show of strength on 9th December in city, parallel to the winter legislature session which it has been doing for all the past sessions. The district administration hasnt given the permission for this as yet.
