Google DevFest brought the latest in technology world to Belgaum

gdgbelgaumsBELGAUM: Belgaumites got a glimpse of what Belgaum’s growing tech community looks like at the first annual Google Developers Group DevFest event at KLS Gogte Institute of Technology, and the event was open for everyone and free cost.
With over 400 online registrations the event was kicked off on 8th November morning with Introduction to GDG Belgaum & Google’s Community efforts by Mr. Anvith K.S from 3iGlobal Inc. Mr. R.K.Patil, CEO of Vayavya Labs and Dr.A.S.Deshpande Principal of GIT addressed the audience as the keynote.

After the keynote address the registrants were split for 3 parallel sessions. Mr.Ilyas Shirol from InMobi took workshop on Python & Had0op 101 session for full day. The crowd went crazy with the way these complex technologies were taught in understandable form & rated this to be the best session in the whole event.

Mr. Allahbaksh Asadullah from Infosys Labs Bangalore took a session of Google Cloud Technology followed by Google App Engine.

With the growing popularity of Android platform obviously the Android Code Lab Session by Mr. Rahul Janagouda from BNB Software Solutions was a great success. Mr. Sandeep Hegde from dotCORD delivered a session on Google+ Platform. This was followed by a session on “Linux Kernel Development” by Mr.Rayagond Kokotanur & Mr.Shrinivas Nagaraddi from Vayavya Labs.

 

Second day commenced with a session on “Future of Imaging technology on Android by Mr.Ravikiran HV. Mr. Manish Chiniwalar from Multunus Software who took a hands on lab on “Google Chrome Apps”, with “Google Cloud Developer Challenge” prizes worth $20,000 were up for grabs to the participants. Mr. Uday Kinjawadekar from AllAboutBelgaum.com took a session on “Google Adsense” and how to monetize the apps and websites. There was also a session on how students can turn entrepreneurs building great software products with Google Technologies.

 

Participants were iterative and made the most of the event. There was a unique photography area where one could take photos with holding an android bot to chrome circle and other Google Product logos in their hands. People were crazy about taking pics here and were found uploading them on social media sites. Subhash Photo Systems Tilakwadi sponsored a free photo book worth Rs.150 for everyone to print their memories of the event.

On the closing remarks the Organizers said Belgaum has a great potential for software industry and its need of hour to develop strong developer community to create skilled talent. They invited people to be part of GDG Belgaum on a continues basis and help others learn latest technologies. Just as technology expands, so will their events.
