The truckers are facing a nightmare of sorts as all the three major highways leading to Goa from Belagavi have a ban for Heavy vehicles due to various reasons.

The Chorla Ghat HTV’s are banned as re asphalting work has been taken up by the Goa Govt. Karnataka Govt ave imposed a ban on heavy vehicles at Anmod Ghat and Maharashtra police have imposed restrictions on the movement of heavy vehicles due to the fragile Amboli Ghat section.

Now the HTV’s have to go via Karwar which is another 80 kms extra than normal.

The Goa PWD in a release states existing NH-748 between Sakhali and the end of Chorla Ghat would be closed for all types of heavy vehicular traffic from May 4 to May 11 for the purpose of improving the road surface by laying a hot mix carpet. During this period, all heavy vehicles are to be diverted via Anmod Ghat.

However, the Anmod ghat is closed due to work undertaken by NHAI.
