BELGAUM | It has been a long pending demand of the city corporation that various national and state highways that pass through the city, the maintenance of the said roads must be handed over to the Corporation. Currently all the State highways and NH4A are managed partially by Corporation and PWD. But this causes a lot hindrance when there is a plan of widening or relaying of roads. The state govt has now issued a notification to this effect and very soon it would be implemented.
Some of the roads that would be transferred to the Corporation are: NH4A Sanchayni Circle to Peeranwadi, Baxuite road, Ashoka Circle to Sambra Road, Chennamma circle to Argan Tank Club road, Kanbargi Road to name a few.
The underpass at Fish market is currently under the PWD and hence the work has not yet started, if the same is transferred to the corporation the work on the same could begin soon.
