Since July 1 there has been a sudden spike in the number of COVID positive cases and as BIMS is the designated COVID treatment hospital in the city, now the pressure is clearly visible at the hospital.

In another rather glaring incident, a 65 old patient from Athani who was first treated in KLE and then later shifted to BIMS complained of pain in the stomach since Thursday night.
But no one came to his rescue and he even fell down in pain on the ground. It is alleged that for over 3 days he was not treated. He expired on Thursday.
