MP Rajya Sabha Iranna Kadadi, while addressing the Rajya Sabha today, proposed to name the Belagavi airport as a Kittur Rani Channamma.
He suggested that in 2024, the 200th anniversary of Kittur Rani Channamma’s historic victory, should be commemorated as a national festival. Furthermore, there have been discussions within the Parliament regarding the possibility of renaming Belagavi Airport as Kittur Rani Channamma Airport, as a tribute to her extraordinary legacy.
He also suggested that commemorative coins and postage stamps honoring Kittur Rani Channamma should be issued.
