A Hybrid Job fair is scheduled to be held here at the Gogte Institute of Engineering college campus located in Udyambag from Dec 23 and the same will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, Dr.C.N.Ashwatha Narayana, Minister for Higher Education, IT/BT, and Skill Development stated on Friday.
After convening a meeting with MLAs, ministers, and representatives at Suvarna Soudha here he told, companies like Ola, HP, and 34 companies have consented to participate in the fair and 70 more companies are keen to join.
The candidates who would to like make use of the opportunity need to register on the ‘Skill Connect’ portal.
After getting registered desired information such as SAP number, nature of the required job, company which requires the candidates, etc will be provided, Minister explained.
“For those who are selected on Dec 23rd, the second round of the interview will be conducted on Dec 24th. For those who are not selected suitable training on imparting skill sets will be planned based on the analyses of shortfalls that come into notice. Around 40,000 job seekers out of the total 80,000 job seekers lack desired skills and the government is committed to addressing this issue,” Narayana told.
