Kabadi Man, founded by Belagavi-based entrepreneurs Siddharth Mutkekar (Founder & CEO) and Chinmay Maddinmath (Co-Founder & COO), has been honoured as a top changemaker at the prestigious Namma Bengaluru Challenge. The platform, which is India’s largest marketplace connecting Kabadiwalas (informal scrap dealers) with homes and businesses for on-demand scrap collection, has made waves in transforming India’s recycling ecosystem.
The Namma Bengaluru Challenge, organized by the UnboxingBLR Foundation, co-founded by Prashanth Prakash of Accel Partners in collaboration with WTFund founded by Nikhil Kamath, seeks to support innovators creating practical solutions for a safer and more livable Bengaluru. Kabadi Man was selected from over 650 applications for its innovative approach to addressing the city’s mounting waste management challenges.
At the grand finale on December 13, 2024, held at the Bangalore International Centre in Domlur, the top 8 finalists presented their ideas to an audience of over 200, including an esteemed jury representing organizations like Social Alpha, UWBengaluru, and UnboxingBLR. Kabadi Man stood out with its unique solution to Bengaluru’s waste woes, leveraging the informal recycling sector while empowering Kabadiwalas.
