Khanapur Police apprehend accused involved in 12 house burglaries

A young man from Kallehol in Belagavi has been apprehended for his involvement in twelve house burglaries in the Khanapur area over the past three years. The Khanapur police took swift action, resulting in the seizure of gold and silver jewelry worth Rs 43,23,115.

SP Belagavi Dr. Bhimashankar Guled shared this information during a press conference on Thursday. Additional District Police Chief R. B. Basargi, Bailhongal Deputy Superintendent of Police Ravi Nayak, Khanapur Police Inspector Manjunath Nayak, and other officers were also present at the event. The arrested individual is Parashuram Nana Goundadkar, a 35-year-old resident of Kallehol in Belagavi dist.

Parashuram was apprehended by the Khanapur police based on technical information gathered at the crime scenes. The authorities seized 673 grams of gold ornaments, 627 grams of silver ornaments, and Rs 16,000 in cash, with a total value of Rs 43,23,115.

There had been a surge in house burglaries in the Khanapur area during daylight hours. Under the guidance of Deputy Superintendent of Police Ravi Nayak and with the assistance of Police Inspector Manjunath Nayak, Sub-Inspector Channabasav Babli, Assistant Sub-Inspector of Police N. K. Patil, Constable B. G. Parasuram, and a team comprising Yaligar, Jagadish Kadroli, Jairam Hammannavar, Manjunath Musli, Praveen Hondad, Pundalik Madar, and others, Parashuram was successfully apprehended. The Technical Department of the Police Headquarters, represented by Vinod Thakkannavar and Sachin Patil, as well as the district police chief’s office, provided valuable assistance during the operation.
