KLS Gogte Institute of Technology, Belagavi witnessed the inauguration of “Electric Charging Station” in the hands of Shri Pradeep Sawkar, Chairman, Karnatak Law Society on 27th August 2021.
KLS GIT is committed to promoting the use of battery-operated electric vehicles in order to reduce the ever-increasing pollution level. The institute is also promoting use of Green Energy in a large scale for social causes and the protection of the environment by installing a 450 KW roof-top Solar Energy plant in GIT.
Shri Pradeep Sawkar said that the use of Electric Vehicles on a large scale will result in the protection of global environment and reduces the expenditure on petrol and diesel. Shri Ram Bhandare, Vice President, Karnatak Law Society, Shri M. R. Kulkarni, Chairman, Governing Council KLS GIT, Shri Vinayak Lokur and Shri Raj Belgaonkar members governing council KLS GIT were present on the occasion. Dr. Jayant. K. Kittur, Principal, KLS GIT and Dr. D. B. Kulkarni HOD, Electrical Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering have taken the initiative in organizing the event.
An exhibition was arranged by the prominent dealers of Electric Scooters and they provided demo and test drive of Electric scooters. Teaching and non-teaching staff of KLS GIT were also present on this occasion.
