On midnight of saturday landslide occured near the main falls at Amboli. The entire route has been closed for traffic.
Last year as well there was a similar landslide and it had taken 26 days to clear the landslide.
The current landslide is not of that nature but will take some time for the road to be open again.
This landslide has occurred very close to where it happened last year and this seems to be same size, hence you could expect the road to be closed for a long time again.
Traffic to savantwadi has now been diverted along the Tillari route.
