PWD Electrical Division has floated tender for setting up of a Laser show at Suvarna Vidhana Soudha Belagavi at a approximate cost of Rs.43.50 Lakhs with a time period of 4 months for completion.

Pangolin LD2000 Professional & Intro Laser Designing and 3D Animation software to control and execute laser shows has been planned. Even smoke machines are planned to give that special effect.

suvarna_soudha_belgaumSuvarna Vidhana Soudha (SVS) in Belagavi was conceived and built at a cost of Rs 400 crore to decongest Vidhana Soudha in Bangalore. It was inaugurated in 2012.

In 2014 there was a proposal to convert it into a tourist spot and the above Laser show looks like the Govt is acting on the same lines.

The 400 crore structure is put to use hardly 20 days in a year and the rest Public Works Minister H C Mahadevappa in 2015 had said, “the building is spread over 6 lakh sq ft and at least Rs.5 crore is required for its maintenance. Instead of spending money from the exchequer for its upkeep, it is better to develop the area around the Soudha. The revenue generated could be used for the maintenance.”of the year there is no activity at the SVS.

The vacant land around the Soudha is about 70 acres. The plan is to have an open theatre, rock garden, musical fountain, artificial waterfalls among other things. Even an artificial lake would be developed to introduce boating. Laser shows would be conducted at the magnificent Soudha.

It should be leased out for functions, parties and recover money from that. Develop it as a museum, picnic spot or 5 star resort. For 20 days during the session it can be closed.
