Abhay Patil, MLA of Belagavi South constituency, request L&T Company to set up an oxygen unit in Belagavi.
The company and other officials inspected the location. The establishment of this oxygen unit can supply oxygen to about 50 beds.
L&T will install the PSA oxygen generating plant for BIMS in Belagavi as a supplementary arrangement for the oxygen need which is an acute requirement in the present pandemic situation.
Being a major hospital in the city handling this pandemic, Belagavi Institution of Medical Sciences (BIMS), Belagavi with 700 COV1D beds (Non-1CU) and 40 ICU beds and 30 step down ICU require approximately 8 KL of Liquid oxygen per day.
The district administration has to ensure an uninterrupted supply of oxygen to the hospitals to prevent the death of COVID patients just due to short oxygen supply. Hence, L&T was requested to provide a PSA oxygen plant at BIMS for which necessary required land will be arranged to allow for this purpose.
Abhay Patil had requested L&T which is now incharge of the 24×7 water supply for Belagavi to set up this Oxygen plant.
The work on the same is expected to commence soon.
