Laxman Savadi, deputy chief minister has written to the Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh asking the latter to commence a DRDO covid care center at Belagavi.
The minister congratulated Defense Minister on DRDO’s initiative in setting up an exclusive covid hospital and medical centers in Delhi, Lucknow, Varanasi, and Ahmedabad.
Due to surge in Covid 19 cases in Karnataka, hospitals here are facing tremendous pressure and overloaded with high number of covid cases.
In this regard, Laxman Savadi humbly made a request to consider setting up similar covid care centers in Karnataka with the help of the Ministry of Defence / DRDO.
Department of Defence is having large land bank in Bangalore and Belagavi which is suitable for the said cause, the letter added.
Setting up such covid treatment centers in Bangalore and Belagavi will not only help patients in the region, but will further ease the pressure on existing hospitals and medical professionals.
