Maharashtra Ekikaran Samiti (MES) is determined to convene a Maha Melava (People’s Assembly) in Belagavi on December 19th in protest of the upcoming winter session of the Assembly at Vaccine Depot Ground which also commences tomorrow.
Former MLA Manohar Kinekar, a leader of MES, has declared that they are unwavering in their commitment to hold the convention. He has questioned why the Karnataka Government can hold an Assembly Session while they are not allowed to hold their own parallel Assembly.
MES has already requested permission from the district administration but is still awaiting a response. The pro-Marathi group is planning to host the convention at Vaccine Depot in Belagavi and is determined to make their voices heard.
