Maharashtra Minister restrained from coming to Belagavi- DC Patil

Deputy Commissioner of Belagavi Nitesh Patil has issued restraining order CrPC 1973 Sec. 144 (3) restraining Dhairyasheel Mane from entering Belagavi District.

What is Section 144(3) in The Code Of Criminal Procedure, 1973

(3) An order under this section may be directed to a particular individual, to persons residing in a particular place or area, or to the public generally when frequenting or visiting a particular place or area.

The Order:

Keeping in mind the points described in the proposal, on 19.12.2022, Mr. Dhairyasheel Mane, Member of Parliament of the State of Maharashtra will arrive in Belagavi district and participate in the program organized by Mediator Maharashtra Integration Committee at Vaccine Depot ground in Belagavi city, where there are chances of giving a provocative speech or provocative statement, which will lead to linguistic animosity and high level of law enforcement. There are chances of disruption of order.

Also, as there is a possibility of causing damage to public property and provoking the Marathi residents of Karnataka, as a precautionary measure in the interest of maintaining law and order and public peace in Belagavi district, I, Nitesh.K.Patil IAS District Magistrate, Belagavi District under section CrPC 1973 Sec. 144 (3) has issued this restraining order dated: 19.12.2022 to take action to prevent the entry of Mr. Mane Member of Parliament of the State of Maharashtra into the boundaries of Belagavi District.
