In a reply to a question asked in the assembly by Mr.Kavadgimath, minister for IT, BT and science and technology SR Patil replied that, yes KEONICS ( Karnataka State Electronics Development Corporation Limited)has been asked to start an IT park in Hindlaga and for the same 5 acres 17 gunthas of survey no.189A1 have been reserved for the same. But the minister did not disclose the time frame in which the same would be implemented.
On Jul 9, 2013, we had published a story Keonics plans to open IT park in Belgaum. In September Information Technology Minister S R Patil has urged his dissatisfaction on the manner in which KEONICS is executing the Belgaum IT park. Minister has asked for the planning as well as the tender process should begin immediately.
The IT park at Desur which has not been utilized at all is now planned to accommodate other industries as well and here we have another department trying to get land for the Itpark.
