Dr Harsh Vardhan, Union Minister for Science & Technology, Earth Sciences, Environment, Forests and Climate Change- Government of India who himself is an ENT Surgeon met the person who was transplanted with a heart recently at the Dr Prabhakar Kore Hospital Belagavi and also spoke to the donor family and he also examined the patient who was doing very good.
Dr Harsh Vardhan said that such mothers are inspirations to the society, who are coming forward and donating organs and saving one life. The work done at KLEs Dr Prabhakar Kore Hospital Belagavi is also commendable that too at such lower costs. More awareness is needed for organ transplantation. All NGOs must take greater interest in this and create more awareness that organ transplant is now possible and it can save one life. The minister also spoke to the team of cardiologist’s and congratulated them on their splendid job.
He who comforted the mother of the heart donor and said you need to be satisfied. The heart of your daughter is beating in this young man’s body. That heart has given a new lease of life to him.
