MP Kadadi demands railway to Mumbai and Hyderabad- Also Karnataka Regiment in Army

Recently, Rajya Sabha BJP Member Iranna Kadadi from Belagavi placed a request for daily rail connectivity from Belagavi to Mumbai and Hyderabad in the Rajya Sabha.

He also demanded the formation of a Karnataka Regiment in the Indian Army.

Kadadi highlighted the bravery and valor of Karnataka, citing the examples of Kittur Rani Chennamma, Rani Abakka, Keladi Rani Chennamma, and the Iron Lady from Chitradurga Onakke Obava, who all fought against the British in the first war of independence.

Belvadi Malamma also led an organization of more than 2000 women. Post-independence, the first Field Marshal General K M Kariappa and third Army General K S Thimayya have served the Indian Army with distinction, and Kadadi concluded that it would be appropriate to have a regiment named after Karnataka in the Indian Army.
