Must make Belgaum a Hitech city

bccDistrict incharge Minister Satish Jarkiholi today held a review meeting at the corporation along with MLAs. He said that Belgaum has lacked behind Hubli and Kolhapur on various grounds and now we all should try to make Belgaum a hi tech city. Development will be carried out as per the plans predicting the population 20 years from now. 

Minister further said, ut of the first Rs 100 crore special grant, developmental works of Rs. 93 crore has been completed. He said that taking-up works like Laser tek Park and Indoor Stadium has been proposed by utilizing the remaining Rs 7 crore fund. With regards to the 2nd installment of 100 crore fund, about 60% works are completed. For the remaining a new plan is being prepared under which the city would get state of the art waste management machinery.

City corporation is short of staff and only 813 personnel work where the strength is 1725. The same would also be looked into to get more staff.

CCTV will be installed, flyovers are the need of hour and discussions are in progress.
After the meeting the minister also met the general public and their grievances.

During the meeting the minister put the mikes on mute and discussed the matter with the officials and no one in the hall was aware what was being spoken and this continued for an hour.

Belgaum MP Suresh Angadi, Belgaum South MLA Sambhaji Patil, Belgaum North MLA Feroz Sait, Congress MLC Veerkumar Patil, Deputy Commissioner N Jayaram and BCC Commissioner Priyanka Francis were also present.

    Can they give the list of development work completed or is it like 93 crore is used for MP’s own development???
