The Public Works Department has prepared a plan worth two hundred crores for the construction of a six-storied Belagavi Deputy Commissioner’s Office. This plan has been sent for approval. The site inspection, survey, and building construction map have been prepared and sent for approval as well. Once approved, the old buildings will be demolished to make way for the new six-storey building. The construction of the new building will commence in a month or two, as the funds have also been approved.

A comprehensive survey has been conducted on the premises of the Belagavi Deputy Commissioner’s office in preparation for the construction of a six-storey building. Surrounding the building on all four sides will be two-lane roads, with an inviting park at the entrance. The proposed building plan has received approval, and the tender process will commence shortly.

The proposal to construct a new building in the Collectorate office premises has been around for quite some time. However, it did not receive much attention until Public Works Minister Satish Jarkiholi took charge. Since then, the project has gained momentum, and the building is expected to be completed by 2025.

The plan includes the construction of two-lane roads on all sides, as well as wide main access roads. Additionally, a park will be created as part of the project. The tender process for the construction will be initiated soon. Several old offices will be demolished to make space for the new building. These offices include the Food and Civil Supplies with Collector Office, Election Department, Lokayukta, Sub-Registrar, and Library and many more.

The new building will span 145 meters in length and 71 meters in width. It will consist of two basement floors and four office floors. The main entrance will be located on the north side, accompanied by a park. A road near Polytechnic College will provide easy access to Channamma Circle and Chavat Galli. The construction work is expected to commence within the next two months.

The proposed project involves utilizing a portion of the expansive nine-acre Deputy Commissioner’s premises to build the new office, covering an impressive two acres. This strategic allocation will ensure ample space for essential amenities such as parking, a beautifully landscaped garden, and other necessary infrastructure.

Given the importance of the documents housed in the sub-registrar office, it is crucial to relocate and preserve them in a secure location. Sources within the sub-registration office have indicated that preparations are underway to facilitate this move. An alternate site is currently being sought, and measures to protect the documents have already been implemented.

As part of the planned development, several buildings will be demolished. The land survey for this area has been conducted by officials from the PWD department.

  1. Already Balagavi city people having trouble with smart city and and Bus stand project.
Instead of building the New DC office use use Suvarna Souda and make payment of Debt of Government of Rs. 5 lakh crore.

And Complition within 2025 is impossible.
All belagavi people oppose the plan.
