No Dolby in Shivaji Jayanti procession

The annual Chhatrapati Shivaji Jayanti procession will take place here in Belagavi on April 30.
The puja marks the inauguration of a grand nightlong cultural procession comprising colourful and brightly illuminated tableaux, depicting the glorious life of the Maratha warrior.

The celebrations evoked a huge response from people in the city. The procession depicts important events in the life of Maratha warrior Chhattrapati Shivaji Maharaj is taken out. Short skits are performed for the audience.

shiv-jayantiIn the peace committee meeting held on Tuesday evening at SP office, the bearers of Shiv Jayanti Utsav committee themselves informed in the meeting that they will not allow encourage Dolby culture further in the procession of Shiv Jayanti. If even after instruction any mandal arranges the Dolby system, Police department should provide a separate route for them.

The Mahamandal will promote the procession with traditional culture which will have rhythm of dhol Tasha, dramas on the life of Chatrapati Shivaji, Lezim and other traditional instruments.

DCP G Radhika has also welcomed the decision of Utsav committee and called upon to cooperate to maintain peace and law and order during processions. She said it would be very apt to start the celebrations from 7 PM and end by 1.30 AM for the tourists who throng the city to witness this procession.

Very Good Initiative, I request respected SP of Belgaum to educate all other processions in a similar way, Belgaum is the place where you would find unbelievable blend of cultures, the district which serves as a common ground for people from Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Goa is very welcoming and needs such initiative to attract more tourists. Belgaum Tourism will play a very important role in making it the SMART CITY
