Karnataka state Govt has enacted measures to prevent large gatherings as efforts continue to trace passengers who returned from the UK in recent days and their contacts. The restrictions will hit New Year’s Eve celebrations in many parts, with several authorities announcing bans on New Year’s parties.
While NO prohibitory orders have been clamped as in Bengaluru, there wont be any scope for any gatherings and DJ parties for the new year celebrations.
Hotels/Bars/club would be open as per COVID guidelines but there won’t be any scope for Public celebrations like yesteryears.
No specific timings have also been mentioned in the press note.
There has been a restriction imposed on burning of the Old man effigy as well as it can attract huge crowds.
The Police Commissioner in its release added that persons violating the conditions would face action under the Disaster Management Act, 2005 and under IPC 188.
The citizens have been asked to have a sober celebration at home and follow the guidelines issued by the administration.
Oh dear . . .
How long before this order is recalled as well?
