This year again the Railway budget 2011-12 presented by Mamta didi has been disappointing for Belgaumites. We all need to say, “Kaash Belgaum Bengal mein hota” then we would have got many trains.
Kolhapur – Dharwad route will be surveyed.
No new trains or extensions as well, this budget was the most disappointing.
Some more general Positives of the Budget:
A new portal for e-ticketing to be launched shortly. Booking charges will be cheaper with a charge of only Rs. 10 for AC classes and Rs.5 for others.
Senior Citizens concession to be hiked from 30 % to 40 %.

I am of the opinion the the principle of PPP be adopted as in case of the Atalji's N H Development–.for Railways. Let us request the Maha DIDI to adopt the principle of PPP;^ get Rly lines laid since all the survey Reports are readily available.
Its time for the citizens of the great City of Belgaum to unite for the Infrastructural development without expecting cooperation from the Union /State Govts. These Govts & the Parties are interested in creating Communal /Linguistic tensions & divert attention of the gullible people from the urgently required problems to be solved–All the mayors Corporators ,MLAs MLCs have simply fooled citizens & did naked loot of the Tax payers' hard earned money.
So the only solution for all is to ignor all the politicians & take us the Issues one after another & see that they are implemented. It is rightly said "ETERNAL VIGILENCE IS THE PRICE OF LIBERTY"
regular rasta roko and rail rokao agitation must be done so that demands of belgaum are looked into for new railway projects in the region

The Dharwad – Kolhapur via Belgaum is given green signal from Railway department in this budget, this what we want it If everything is done properly planning,then this will be done along the NH-4 and helps to develop the overall improvements in this region especially in the field of infrastructure. This will reduce the distance between Belgaum and Dharwad almost 80 plus Km. Hope after this there will be intercity trains between Belgaum and Bangaluru…….
I support the suggestion of Amit regarding KLP Dwr new rly lne If accepted will save not only time but also the fuel consumption,Inter city train services on the lines of Hubli B;lore Inter city train will go a long wayin the process toeards improvemrnt in the Infrastructure development along with the N H 4A & bypass road from Panaji to Klp .This will ease congesstion on the Road passing through Cantonment area ( SBI<FIsh Market to Bogarves,College rd Dr B R Ambedkar Rd etc.Hope Bgm Dev Activists will keep a close watch in this noble cause of the development of our sweet Belgaum( Belagavi)
