Ministry of External Affairs announces another measure for the facilitation of passport-related services. The facility to apply for Police Clearance Certificates (PCC) is to be included at all online Post Office Passport Seva Kendras (POPSK) across the country beginning from September 28, 2022. This would help significantly for the availability of PCC appointment slots and that too at an earlier date.
Hence now to get the Police Clearance Certificate in Belagavi one can approach the POPSK at the Head post office at Camp Belagavi for the same.
This facility would help Indian citizens seeking employment abroad and other Police Clearance Certificate requirements in the Field of Education, Long Term Visa and Emigration.
The Police Clearance Certificate is mandatory to work in select foreign countries and establishes that the individual does not have a criminal background. Until September 27, only the five Passport Seva Kendras at Hubballi, Mangaluru, Marthahalli, Kalaburagi and Lalbagh were authorized to collect the applications.
But now even the POPSK will be authorized to issue the same.
The Belagavi POPSK has started the PCC process.
The PCC certificate has a validity of six months. There is no fixed time frame for its issue but on average it takes between two to three weeks to be given after all verification has been completed.
