The work on the Railway over bridge at Old Dharwad road has picked up some pace and now 32 of the 58 Girders have been put in place, the remaining will be done in a months time.

About 3-4 girders are been put into their places daily. After the girders are put in place concrete will be poured.

The RoB has 14 Pillars; 10 upto Roopali Hall and 4 upto Jija Mata circle and is 40 feet wide and estimated cost is 24 Crore.

The work on the same began on 24 Jan 2017 and is expected to finish in 18 months.

old-dwd-rd-bridgeMP Suresh Angadi had given December deadline for the work to complete but as per the contract, they still have about 6 months time in which time the work should get completed and it will help in reducing the load of traffic at Kapileshwar and Congress road to some extent.

Sources say the RoB could be opened for traffic by May end which is decent time line seeing the current status of the work.
