Passenger trains derails near Belgaum no deaths

A passenger train 1620 Hubli to Miraj

 derailed at about 5.19pm  near Tumaraguddi between Suladhal and Sulebhavi station. Engine and 4 bogies derailed.

4 bogies of the train have derailed and fallen on the right side of the track due to flash floods triggered by incessent rains. 50 people have been brought to Belgaum for treatment.
MOS Railways Muniappah visted the injured in disrtrict hospital late night and declared NO ONE WAS killed in the train mishap of yesterday. 50 PEOPLE have been injured he said.

Tracks were washed away at sections because of floods which led to the derailment. Railway Minister CP Joshi announced Rs5 lakh to the next of the kin of the deceased and Rs1 lakh for those who sustained grevious injuries. Besides, he announced Rs 25,000 for those who sustained simple injuries.

  1. It’s very sad to hear about accident, We need a separate alternative route in such Emergency case,
    I request Hon.Min. to plan a Route connecting GOKAK, YARGATTI , SAUNDATTI ,DHARWAD
