A middle-aged man, identified as Kalyani Jyotiba More (44), has been apprehended by Kakati Police on Thursday for allegedly assaulting an Anganwadi worker by chopping off her nose in a fit of rage. The incident transpired on Tuesday in Basurte village, Belagavi district, when the accused confronted the victim, Sugandha More (50). The altercation reportedly originated from the accused’s claim that the victim’s children had plucked flowers from his garden the day before.
During the confrontation, Kalyani More escalated the situation, resulting in a physical altercation where he allegedly mutilated Sugandha’s nose. The victim, Sugandha, was rushed to the hospital in a severely bleeding condition, and her current status is reported to be critical.
After committing the alleged crime, the accused fled the scene. However, Police successfully apprehended Kalyani Jyotiba More and presented him before the court. The incident highlights the escalating tensions over a trivial dispute, leading to a serious and violent outcome.
