Savadatti police have successfully apprehended five individuals, including a minor, in connection with a robbery that occurred in August 2023. Providing details to reporters on Wednesday, SP Bhimashankar Guled revealed that the victim, Ashok Bagewadi, was ambushed near the Renuka Yallamma temple in Savadatti’s Shanti Nagar area. The perpetrators made off with substantial valuables, including a gold chain, a mobile phone, and a two-wheeler, all totaling Rs 8.7 lakh. Fortunately, the police have managed to recover the stolen items from the suspects.

According to the SP, the accused had meticulously planned their crime, conducting thorough surveillance on the victim’s movements before executing the robbery on August 24, 2023. Of particular note is the main suspect, Mohammed Imamsab Kalled, a resident of Savadatti, who was well-acquainted with the victim.

In the past, Mohammed had borrowed Rs 50,000 from Ashok, which he had promptly repaid. However, upon realizing that Ashok possessed a significant sum of money, Mohammed hatched a plan to rob him, enlisting the help of his accomplices.
