Launched of “Emerge-24” program to encourage entrepreneurship
World Entrepreneurship Day was celebrated by Visvesvaraya Research and Innovation Foundation (VRIF), a Section 8 company of Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) here on Thursday 22nd August 2024 at VTU Belagavi.
Dileep Chandak, Founder and MD of Vega Auto Accessories, an internationally renowned helmet industry in Belgaum, was present as the Chief Guest for the event. VTU Vice Chancellor Prof. Vidyashankar S. presided over the function. The program was inaugurated by watering the plant.
Speaking about the growth of the Vega Industry Chief Guest of the function Dilip Chandak said that ups and downs are always part of a journey as an entrepreneur. If any business or industry is to be started, difficulties and losses are bound to occur and only if you bear it and continue with patience, you can grow and become a successful entrepreneur, he said. During the growth of the industry, it is normal to get negative feedback in many ways about the quality and management, of products, we should not panic at that moment because we cannot act according to everyone’s demand, and interests and cannot make everyone happy, and however we have to critically analyze and check that demand and potential of demand to grow. A student or any person wish to become a successful entrepreneur should not have any kind of negative thinking in mind. When someone else or a friend does any good work or achievement or come up with an innovative idea you should appreciate and encourage that person by praising and disseminating person’s achievement in front of ten more people so that you will help him to grow, he said.
VTU VC Prof. Vidyashankar S, in his presidential remarks said that, with India being the largest population country in the world there is a need to create more entrepreneurs instead of employees. We all know that a person grows into an entrepreneur because of his interest, that is, they become entrepreneurs out of their interest, but today, students or young people who do not have that interest in entrepreneurship but have skills and innovative thinking need to be encouraged by such platforms to develop interest about entrepreneurship and to have start-ups and grow as entrepreneurs. In this regard, VTU has established the Visvesvaraya Research and Innovation Foundation (VRIF) and is working to foster interest in entrepreneurship among students. In this direction, a program called “Emerge-24” was launched today.
