On Wednesday, the Congress Party launched the ‘Prajadhwani Yatra’ from Veer Soudha in Tilakwadi, Belagavi, to highlight the State Government’s failures and showcase their vision for the development of Karnataka.

AICC General Secretary Randeep Singh Surjewala, KPCC President DK Shivakumar, Assembly Opposition Leader Siddaramaiah, Legislative Council Opposition Leader BK Hariprasad, Campaign Committee President MB Patil, Working President Salim Ahmed, Senior Leader RV Deshpande, and other leaders were present.

“During the bus yatra, we will emphasize the shortcomings of the BJP government and our vision for Karnataka,” Shivakumar told reporters. The party also released a booklet detailing various allegations against the BJP government and launched a website to gather public opinion.

Siddaramaiah criticized the current Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai for his weak leadership and failure to protect the state’s interests. He noted that the 15th Finance Commission had recommended the release of Rs 5,495 crore in special grants to the state, but Finance Minister Nirmala Sitaraman, who is elected to Rajya Sabha from Karnataka, rejected the recommendation.

This recommendation was left out of the final report as neither the State Government nor the 25 BJP MPs from the state put pressure on the Centre. As a result, the state’s development works have been hindered and its debt burden has increased.
