Prepaid taxi service at Belagavi Airport could further push traffic

Like airports in Metro cities, which have a dedicated Prepaid taxi service, the Belagavi Airport should also look into this option at the airport for the convenience of the travelers.

According to the latest report from AAI about 700 passengers travel daily from the airport.

All have to reply on Private cars/autos/Private taxis as there is no alternate way of reaching the airport.

Again it is the bargaining skills one has to have to get a good deal to reach the airport.

Many still don’t prefer to travel by air as they don’t have someone who can drop them at the airport or pick them up.

The NWKRTC has also not commenced its Fly bus service to the airport

Girish said traveling by Air is cheap and fast but getting to the airport is an issue as someone has to drop me and pick me up. If there is a reliable fixed pre-paid taxi counter as in metros I may travel more by air as it saves my time.

The Belagavi airport has seen some dramatic growth in the past few years under the leadership of Shri Rajesh Kumar Maurya and his team

A pre-paid taxi can add as a booster for air traffic as more and more flyers would fly.

Travel convenience between the Belagavi airport and main city is a issue as there is no government transport or prepaid taxi & auto rickshaw available for the common man. Apart from that some of the restrictions imposed in the premises of Belagavi airport are not passengers’ friendly. When covid19 infection was high rate all most all the airports and other transport stations adopted restrictions unanimously, that we understood and cooperated. In the recent months, covid19 infection rate has drastically come down, so such covid19 restrictions were removed in other airports but they are still in force in Belagavi airport. For instance, the passengers’ vehicles are stopped more than 100 meters way from the departure and arrival gates. It puts lot of hardship to old men and women. It is terrible for everyone including infants if it is rainy. It is surprising to note that this restriction i.e. getting down 100 meters way from gates are not applicable to all passengers, there are some fortunate people (know as VIPs) alighting from their vehicle near the gates, even though we the common man and these so called VIPs paying same amount of rupees as aviation security fee, user development fee and convenience fee while booking air tickets, but the treatment is different, what a fate it is. It is a humble request, the airport authority should allow all passengers to get down at least near departure gate from their vehicle because some times passengers are coming late to catch flights due to traffic jam or heavy rain.
