On Friday the Special Investigation Team (SIT) that probed the CD gate case involving former minister Ramesh Jarkiholi submitted the B report before the city court, saying the investigation revealed no evidence against him.

A ‘B’ report was filed in this case by the SIT, stating there is no evidence to prove the charge or the other allegations made against him.

(B report means cancellation report i.e police have not found any evidence against you to file a charge sheet and seek trial. )

The clean chit could potentially pave the way for his reinduction into the Basavaraj Bommai-led Cabinet. He had to step down in 2021 following allegations of rape.

The victim had filed a sexual assault case against Jarkiholi at Cubbon Park police station after the victim lodged a complaint last year. The investigation officers mentioned in the report that it was ‘consensual’ sex.

According to SIT officials, during the investigation, they found there was no adequate evidence to prove that it was a case of sexual assault. Thus the B report has been filed before the court, reports the New Indian Express.

Ramesh Jarkhiholi was seen lobbying hard for his re induction into the Bommai cabinet and even met Devendra Phadnavis in Goa.
