The Uttara Kannada Deputy Commissioner has officially reopened the Anmod Ghat road for all types of vehicles, including heavy ones, after four long years of closure due to the construction of the Belagavi-Goa NH.
This is excellent news for commuters who have been eagerly waiting for the road to be accessible for smooth traffic flow. However, the road’s reopening has caused a traffic jam on the Khanapur – Ramnagar – Anmod road due to incomplete and pending road works.
According to Kiran on Twitter, none of the bridges on this stretch are complete, and all are only half done. The roads are very narrow and muddy, making it difficult for trucks to pass through, causing blockages on the roads. Furthermore, many accidents have occurred as heavy trucks have fallen due to the narrow roads.
The authorities must take immediate action to complete the pending road works and ensure the safety of commuters. The incomplete bridges and narrow roads are not only causing inconvenience but also posing a significant risk to the lives of those who use the road. It is high time that the authorities prioritize the completion of the road works and ensure that the roads are safe for all types of vehicles.
