Register FIR online for stolen vehicles in Karnataka

The Karnataka police have made life easier for citizens to lodge an FIR of a stolen vehicle, Online. It can now be reported online.

Commissioner of Police Belagavi city has shared – The Karnataka State Police online web portal has provided the facility for the public to report the theft of their vehicle immediately through e-FIR [eFir], the public can report vehicle theft cases without visiting the police station anymore. The help of the nearest police station can be taken in this regard.

How to register e-FIRs:

Head to the Citizen-Centric Portal of the KSP at https://policeseva.ksp.gov.in/

Create an account or log in using an earlier one

Click on the ‘e-FIR registration (vehicle theft only) option

Register New FIR page will open

Fill in all the details asked for such as Aadhar number, DOB, Fathers name, Mobile name

Then specify in the OCCURENCE option where, When the vehicle was stolen

Then enter the vehicle’s Registration number- this is a dynamic field which means it will fetch the details from the VAHAN database.

RC and insurance can be uploaded under the Complaint menu and then authenticate the same using an Aadhar number and OTP.

A temporary request number is shown on the screen

Also, a message that the E-fir has been submitted to the concerned Police station will be seen

You will receive an SMS to e-sign the FIR on the Citizen-Centric Portal and download the copy.
