Deputy Commissioner Belagavi Nitesh Patil has issued a temporary restriction on public and tourist entry to the Rajhans gad Fort area from March 21 to April 4.

This decision has been made in light of the ongoing development works in the area. One of the crucial projects involves the installation of granite stone paving on the road, which requires a dedicated 15-day timeline for completion.

Unfortunately, the daily influx of tourists and visitors has made it challenging to carry out the work in a systematic and efficient manner. Therefore, the restriction has been put in place to ensure that the development work can be completed without any hindrance.

This may cause inconvenience to some, but citizens are urged to cooperate with the administration in this matter. The development work is essential for the betterment of the Rajahans gad Fort area.

The 36-foot-high bronze statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj atop the Rajhuns gad was inaugurated by the BJP first then by the Congress and then a purification program was held by the MES which saw huge crowds at the Gad. Also, tourists thronged the fort to see the newly installed statue.
