Roadblock by Shiv sena during Presidents visit to Belgaum MES calls for bandh

OnThursday MES HAS CALLED FOR A BELGAUM BANDH.
Today Shiv Sena has called for a Four districts bandh on Oct 11 to coincide with the visit of the President Pranab Mukherjee to Belgaum to inaugurate the Assembly building Suvarna Vidhan Soudha. Kolhapur, Sangli, Satara and Sindhudurg districts will take part in this bandh tomorrow October 11.

They say as the matter is in the supreme court, the president should not come here for the opening as it would give a worng signal and this could also be contempt of the court.
Also Shiv sena plans to block the Kolhapur Belgaum Highway upto 2 pm as mark of protest against the President’s visit to Belgaum and he opening the assembly hall here.

The Shiv Sena in a release said, since the matter was pending before the Supreme Court, Thursday’s function by the president could send a wrong message on the long-pending border dispute between Maharashtra and Karnataka.

Also in Belgaum about 100 supporters were arrested for the same cause which include Vijay more, the former Mayor whose face was blackened some years back when they had passed a resolution in the city corporation saying Belgaum should go to Maharashtra.
