The Karnataka State Assembly has decided to ask 21 MLAs who hold an office of profit to return various allowances given to them for taking part in legislature sessions. Salaries of 21 Karnataka MLAs have been withheld after the legislative assembly secretariat’s crackdown on ‘office of profit. Salaries of 21 MLAs who are members of various boards, committees, and commissions were withheld after the legislature learned that they were drawing dual salaries.
This also includes the name of Belagavi North MLA Feroz Saith.
The accounts wing of state secretariat has also asked to stop payment of various allowances to these legislators.
