A year long wait and Christmas is here again with all the jingle bells. Old and young are busy rushing shopping of decorative items for their house on Christmas Eve. Christmas trees, wreaths, bells, stars, balloons and Christmas goodies in all hues and colours thronged the Gun Shop, High Street Camp Belgaum which was established in 1860, standing tall with its exquisite British architecture and charm.
Every year the Gun shop celebrates Christmas in an unique way. A ten feet tall Christmas tree greets you at the entrance, music brings life and Santa adds the zest to the charm. Over the years people have bonded around the Christmas tree, created memories and added to the legacy of the store that proudly is the oldest business establishment of the town.
Major activity with respect to Christmas is seen in Camp. The Fatima Cathedral, St.Mary’s church, St. Antony’s church are all getting ready for its yearly fete.
Currently the Christan community is not in large numbers as it was earlier but even now they come together and celebrate the festival with their families.
The St.Paul’s school this time has made a crib which is based on the message of global warming and it is worth seeing how the effects of global warming will affect mankind.
The Gun Shop is Camp is a wonderful place to shop for Christmas and one gets a different kind of feeling shopping there.
Also people on streets are selling the Santa Caps.
