It is easy to recall the good things with gratitude but even the challenges and hardships are worth recollecting. Right from the evolution till the day this school has been trying to give the best quality education and the 3600 development of the children. The purpose and mission were to carry forward class and elegance.
This institution is a creation of a vision of Late Rt. Rev. Bishop Michael, with a strong urge of having an English Medium School, in the village of Khanapur with the other cities of diocese having ample English Medium Schools.
The founder of Principal Late Rev.Fr. Edwin D’Souza took up as the first Principal and worked zealously for the upliftment of the downtrodden. He taught the moral values of Love, Sincerity and Hard work to his students which later became the school motto and stands the same till day.
The School got its name Sarvodaya which means upliftment of everyone and social justice for all. The time of evolution the school was run by the Priests of Society of Jesus, and only boys school from class V to X up to the year 1966. The school was taken over by the Diocesan Priests in 1966.
The year 1967 brought in the girls on the campus as thus Sarvodaya Boys School turned to be a Co-education School, along with came the Nursery section and the Primary classes.
The later Principal, Late Rev.Fr. Anthony Vatakuzhy, Rev.Fr. Lucio Mascarenhas, Rev. Fr.Eddie D’costa, LateRev.Fr. Xavier Rangel, Re3v.Fr. Alex D’cruz, Rev.Fr.Michael Souza and the present Principal Rev.Fr. Felix Monteiro has put in their head, heart, and hand to work zealously and shouldered the responsibility of getting ‘Laurels’ to this great institute of education.
This great Alma Mater has been a source of inspiration to so many students and has helped them to stand tall in society.
The journey of 60 years of our institute has been a remarkable one, with challenges overcome with new solutions and new heights.
The price of greatness is responsibility and that is what all those who shouldered the responsibility have journeyed to accomplish the feat of success and now this great institute is all set to marks the “Jubilant Year”.
At this very juncture, this great institute is set to Jubilate “The Diamond Jubilee” the 60 glorious years with eminent personalities to witness the extravaganza colorful evening.
The Jubilation is commencing for two days 6th December 2019. Diamond Parents Day will be graced by Rt.Rev.Dr. Derek Fernandes(Bishop of Belagavi) as the President of the function, and we will be honored to have our own son of our school Mr. Shyamsunder Keshkamat, Commissioner of Income Tax as our Chief Guest.
The Diamond Alumni Fest will also be Presided by this Lordship Rt.Rev.Dr. Derek Fernandes and as our Chief Guests will be the proud Alumni. Mr. Devdas Naik a very well flourished sky sworing businessman into Hotel Business, and the Guest of Honour will be Mr. Eddie Viegas and Alumni as well a Captain, Rev.Fr. Jacob Carvalho, a Priest, who worked as a Principal of St. Paul’s School Belgaum, Mr. Arjun Devaiah an International Athlete, Mr. Balraj Patil Law Officer in KNNL, Mr. Rahul Sanknur, IAS AIR 17 presently under Officer Training, Mr. Abdul Rehiman Nandgadi, Judge at Bangalore and many more eminent personalities.
