The Committee on Government Assurances of the Legislative Council recommended to the State Govt to shift atleast 6 departments to Suvarna Soudha and utilize the building for the entire year. The committee headed by Basavaraj Horatti disclosed this at a press meet.
Mr. Horatti said the soudha should be brimming with activities and bridge regional imbalances. He said 10,000 sq.ft was available on the first floor, 2,700 sq.ft on the second floor and 5,000 sq.ft on the third floor, which could be utilised for accommodating departments such as Sugar, Textiles, Cooperation, Water Resources and Higher Education.
The committee also recommended to the government to release Rs. 30 crore to the PWD to develop 70 acres of land on the soudha premises.
