In a review meeting held yesterday MLA Sambhaji Patil, Suresh Angadi and other officials felt the need to expidite the process of sanctioning of funds of Rs.30 crore for the widening of the Khanapur road NH 4A from Third gate to Peeranwadi which would be 120 feet wide.

The estimated cost for the widening is Rs.30 crores and the state has already sanctioned Rs.10 Crores. It was earlier decided that the road would be developed by 50-50% contribution from state and Central govt under the ASIDE scheme. But the sanction from the ASIDE scheme is not happening and this is the only reason why the work cant progress any further the PWD officials said.

The 3 kms road has 387 trees and the forest department has already sanctioned the cutting of these trees. The work has been hampered due to the non sanction of the money.
It was decided to meet Chief minister on the matter at the earliest and get the amount sanctioned.
